Leonard J. Miller & Associates seeks an accountant to join our growing audit and accounting team in Baltimore, Maryland.

COMPENSATION/BENEFITS. Starting annual salary is based on your knowledge and experience. SCHEDULE. This is a full-time position. Hybrid (2 days) in the Baltimore, MD office. The firm is most interested in exceptional talent and is open to a reasonable schedule flexibility. Overtime during busy season is expected.

Key Responsibilities

  • Knowledge and understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Responsible for assigned Accounting, Compilations and Review engagements under the supervision of the accounting manager.
  • Prepare basic financial statements and disclosures, journal entries, reconciliation of financial data, GL and trial balance input and analysis.
  • Assist with maintaining fixed asset depreciation schedules and lease accounting.
  • Work closely with senior-level accounting and audit personnel in various ad-hoc analysis and projects.
  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation.

Skills

  • 1-3 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Management, or a related field, is preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and CCH ProSystem fx® engagement software is helpful.
  • Excellent organization, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to problem-solve and think both creatively and logically.
